One of my favorite holidays is hands-down the 4th of July. The fireworks, Americana, and high spirits all make me giddy. This year we had an unconventional 4th of July but it was one for the history books. One of our family friend’s was in town on his family’s yacht called the “I Got This”. My husband and I were honored to join them in Destin for the holiday.

We arrived on July 3rd and prepared for dinner on the yacht in the harbor that evening. Our lovely friends Nick and Stephanie (a fellow flight student and his fiance) joined us for the holiday. We started the night off with a cheese board, gulf shrimp, and chilled rose’ (my favorite wine). It was so fun to sit on the top deck and watch all of the boats float by in the harbor. I have to admit it was hilarious watching people stare at the yacht as they floated by. It was the nicest one docked in the harbor.

The full-time crew was so gracious and welcoming towards us. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing their stories of travels up the East coast and the coast of Florida.

For dinner, the crew chef prepared steak and paired it with a rich Cabernet. I was in heaven being waited on and served a gorgeous dinner. My instagram story that night was complete evidence. This was such a good memory with close friends. We continued to dance and party the night away on the top deck as the rose’ really started to kick in.

The next morning we woke up and enjoyed another scrumptious breakfast prepared in the yacht kitchen. We all boarded their fishing boat and traveled out to Crab Island for the day. Luckily, the crew had packed plenty of bottles of rose’ to enjoy out on water for the 4th. I had so much fun that I didn’t take many photos of our experience. I believe when you’re having so much fun that you forget to take photos – then you’re making awesome memories!
